Worked on Still Life 9. Painted everything except the glass stem and base. This one still needs some work. The table needs wood grain.

Worked on Still Life 8. This is almost finished. Just details remain. As in all of them, the glass stem and base need some work.
A few weeks after I finish a still life I will “oil it out” which is putting a little linseed oil on a lint-free material such as flannel and rubbing oil onto the painting. After not too long some areas of an oil painting “sink”. Depending on the color the oil from the paint can sink down into the canvas. It also depends on the primer used on the canvas. Most canvas is primed with acrylic which the paint can sink into. Oil primer is the best but few people do this at home. Oil-primed Belgium Linen is the best but costs a fortune.

Worked on Still Life 6. I changed the wine glass shadow which will have to be done again because the old shadow shows through. Other than that all that remains is some work on the wine glass stem and base, the table, and some details. Almost finished.
I just realized the wine bottle shadow is totally going in the wrong direction. That won’t be difficult to fix the next time.

Worked on Seascape 1. During the next session or two, I’ll get the sky dialed in.

Worked on all of Seascape 2. Until today I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get the seascapes right but now I’m feeling better about them. I’m thinking I’ll need two more sessions of painting everything and then details which is just over two weeks. The boat will get many details. I’ve just roughed the water in. In the next session, I’ll add small waves. The sky of Seascape 1 still worries me. Hopefully that goes well tomorrow.

Worked on all of Still-Life 16.

Worked on Still-Life 15. This is pretty much what my palette looks like every time I work on one of the still-life paintings. Lately, I’ve been using a medium that dries pretty quickly so I need to mix new paint for each session.

Worked on Still Life 14. This is one of my still-life paintings that is more involved than most of the others. I didn’t touch the wine glass stem or base this session. When I’m happy with the table and background I’ll finish the glass.
