Thursday and Friday I glued canvas to fifteen MDF boards. MDF is kinda crappy masonite but it’s strong enough for this purpose. Today I primed the canvas. They are ready to go. Next, I need to draw the subjects on the canvas.

Worked on all of Landscape 2. I’ll have to paint one more session on this followed up with some finishing touches. This is taking way too long. I’ve been tempted to throw it out but it’s from a photo from my last trip to the Bighorn Mountains and it’s a fond memory. This is a pretty area on the way to and from Greybull, Wyoming, and my campgrounds up in the mountains.

This morning I finished and signed Landscape 6. I’m sure I’ll put a few dots of paint on it before I oil it out. I like the landscapes with the crazy clouds I’ve been finishing but I get the feeling others don’t share my enthusiasm. I’m going to paint more of them along with still-life paintings, and paintings of clear, rocky streams. Eventually, I imagine I’ll settle on a predominant style and subject matter/s.
