I looked and looked but couldn’t find anything on the Green Bay Packers. It’s as though they never existed.
Drove eight hours from Brevort Lake in the Upper Peninsula to Maple Lakes Campground in Seville, Ohio. This is a huge private family campground with a store, pool, pond, etc.. It’s a very nice campground with 194 sites. It looks as though most sites have trailers and rvs parked for the season.
I’ve canceled the Manhattan and Museum of Modern Art part of my trip. I was going to spend a lot of money, time, and energy to walk around the museum for a few hours. Someday I’ll take a train to Manhattan and spend two or three days sightseeing.
I’ve had September San Juan River reservations for months. The way things look out west is not promising. Looks like it may be a terrible year for heat, drought, and fire. I’ll have to keep an eye on it.

Tomorrow at 10 am I will tour the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s about 50 minutes from my campground. After the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I’ll visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame which is kinda back towards my trailer.
Rained all night long which can be a kind of comforting sound in a trailer. It’s comforting knowing you’re in a trailer that has never leaked and not in a tent. It’s supposed to rain until around 11 am but remain very windy in the afternoon. Good day to read a book.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority issues advisories. Just my truck would be fine today but I wouldn’t drag my trailer across cause I’m retired and don’t have to be anywhere. Years ago I saw a documentary about the bridge. There is an office on each side of the bridge. If you are afraid of driving across the bridge you can stop at the office and they will drive your vehicle across the bridge.
Camping the next two nights at Brevort Lake National Forest Campground in Hiawatha National Forest. The campground is roughly 20 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge. My plan for tomorrow was to cross the bridge, drive down to around Petoskey and Charlevoix, and walk the beaches a little bit to look for Petoskey Stones and Charlevoix Stones. Nothing wrong with a walk on a beach. It doesn’t look like the weather is going to cooperate. Might end up buying a stone. They don’t cost much.
My campsite at Brevort LakeView from the campsite across from my campsite. If I ever come back I’ll stay at this site
A friend of mine I went to college with from 1970 through 1972 was playing with his band at Rock Island Resort which is a few miles north of Merrill, Wisconsin so I made a stop there the first stop of this trip. I camped at Council Grounds State Park. The park is two miles north of Merrill and Rock Island Resort is two miles north of the park. Turns out it’s a biker bar which was ok with me.
Before I post the photos I should say…
I did NOT vote for Trump and never would, not an insult

Almost everyone was outside until dark. Just before dark I went inside to watch the end of the Bucks game. By the time the game was over it was dark and everyone was inside the bar. Got a little crazy but not too crazy. It was a good night.
Heading “up north” at around 2 pm to Council Grounds State Park campground. Tonight an old friend and his band will be playing at a bar a few miles from my campsite. I went to college with him fifty years ago. Tomorrow I’ll head to a National Forest campground close to the Mackinac Bridge.
This morning I made all the reservations including museum reservations. Before going on to museums I’ll first spend a couple of nights camped about twenty minutes from the Mackinac Bridge. From there I’ll visit Walloon Lake where Hemingway’s family had a cottage when he was young and where he married his first wife. I’ll be going to Lake Michigan beaches looking for Petosky Stones and Charlevoix Stones. I’m going to that area to look for the stones and Walloon Lake happens to be in the area. I wouldn’t drive very far to go to Walloon Lake. Then I’ll be visiting the; Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Football Hall of Fame, Baseball Hall of Fame, and the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan. I’ll be heading out next Saturday the 19th of June.
I’m still considering a Baseball Hall of Fame trip. My drive to Cooperstown would take me close to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton. Manhattan and its art museums are not far from Cooperstown. We shall see.
Fished early this morning with flies I know catch fish on the Timber Coulee. Caught a few tiny trout. It’s been too hot too long. Heading home after I pack things up.
Didn’t fish this morning. A couple of weeks ago I got a pretty good sunburn fishing the Timber Coulee. My arms have been peeling for a few days and yesterday I got a little bit of a burn again. I’ll probably fish at sunset maybe on Coon Creek. It looks ok but it isn’t very big.
Esofea-Rentz Campground and my site. The North Branch of the Broad Axe River flows through the campground. It’s pretty small but fishable.
